Vacancy  – Estimator

The Position

We require an experienced Estimator to support the operational management team within the pre-contract stages of projects. You will be required to accurately assess and identify client requirements for each tender and develop the tender submission process to ensure consistent and compliant tenders are returned to potential clients.

Experience within a similar position is essential. The successful candidate will ideally have several years’ experience in utility contracting and preferably with experience of Horizontal Directional Drilling and Auger Boring. The ideal candidate will be confident working individually and as part of a team. The ability to work under pressure and excellent communication and IT skills are essential.

 

The Duties

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, your key responsibilities will include

  • Attending pre-tender meetings and site visits with clients
  • Assisting with estimating processes with responsibility for the accurate submission of tender documentation within the time scale provided
  • Able to undertake estimates from first principals, undertake required measurements and analyse operational information
  • Review, amend and agree client contract documentation
  • Identify, manage and maintain relationships with subcontractors
  • Track and analyse tender submissions and obtain feedback where required from potential clients
  • Tracking of tenders submitted and won
  • Liaise with the Commercial Manager regarding the development of costing information
  • Obtaining quotations / procurement of materials and services for projects
