AMS No-Dig Ltd has recently added to its Horizontal Directional Drilling fleet with the purchase of a new Drilling Rig from Prime Drilling, a specialist Horizontal Directional Drilling equipment manufacturer from
The Prime drilling rig (PD60/33), has 60 tonnes of pullback with 33,000Nm of rotary torque making it an extremely powerful rig, capable of installing product up to 1000mm diameter and 1000m in length.
The PD 60/33 RP-C horizontal directional drilling rig is a powerful and technically advanced machine. Due to its compact construction, time and effort of loading and
set-up of the drill rig and getting it into the correct drilling position is reduced to a minimum.
All movement settings and drill functions are driven by a watercooled Deutz diesel engine, with the upgraded 240kW power output, powering a 520 l/min Hydraulic pump.
The function of feeding and retraction of the hydraulic power rotary head are smoothly driven by a rack & pinion feeding-system (RP). Due to the pull back force of 60t as well as a torque of 33,000 Nm, drilling shots
with length of up to 1,000 m and with diameter up to 1,000 mm are possible.
The drill and movement functions are controlled from the onboard control cabin, which is equipped with heating, air conditing and radio as standard. The rig is fitted with an onboard Hiab crane with radio remote control, capable
of lifting 4.4 tonnes, and 4.9m reach. This crane works alongside a hydraulically operated drill rod manipulator which can lift 1000kg and is hydraulically turnable and slewable.
