Directional Auger Boring is a technique whereby product is installed between two prepared shafts, usually manholes.
The boring rig is set up in the launch shaft and the laser guided probe is then jacked through the ground to the reception exit shaft.
Steel casing pipes are then jacked into position following the pathway made by the guided probe.
As jacking progresses the spoil is cut from the face and removed by means of the auger flights which are rotated within the steel casings.
On completion of this operation the product pipes are pushed into position from the launch shaft with the augers and steel casings being progressively removed at the reception shaft.
